Privacy Policy

Last updated: May 1, 2026

This Privacy Policy describes how Number Grove (“we,” “us,” or “our”) handles information in connection with your use of numbergrove.com (the “Site”). By using the Site you consent to the practices described here. If you do not agree, please do not use the Site.

1. Information we do not collect

The calculators on this Site are designed to run entirely in your browser. We do not collect, transmit, or store the loan balances, interest rates, lump sums, terms, or any other values you enter into the calculators. Those values never leave your device.

2. Information stored locally on your device

To remember your inputs between page visits, the calculator saves the values you enter to your browser's local storage (a per-device, per-browser storage area). This data:

  • Stays on your device. We cannot read it.
  • Is not transmitted to us, our servers, or any third party.
  • Can be cleared at any time by clicking the reset button on the calculator, by clearing your browser's site data, or by using your browser's private/incognito mode.

3. Information automatically collected

When you visit any website, certain information is exchanged automatically as part of how the internet works (your IP address, browser type, operating system, the page you requested, the referring URL, and a timestamp). Our hosting provider may log this information for security and operational purposes. We do not use it to identify individual visitors.

We may also use a privacy-friendly analytics service (such as Plausible Analytics or similar) that counts anonymous, aggregate page views without using cookies and without collecting personal data. If we add such a service, this policy will be updated to reflect it.

4. Cookies and similar technologies

The Site does not currently set cookies for tracking purposes. The Site uses your browser's local storage only for the limited purpose described in Section 2 above.

In the future, we may display advertisements (for example, through Google AdSense or a similar ad network) and may participate in affiliate programs (for example, with mortgage marketplaces or lenders). When and if we do, those third parties may set cookies on your device to deliver ads, measure ad performance, or attribute referrals. If we add advertising or affiliate cookies, we will update this policy and present a consent banner where required by applicable law.

5. Affiliate links

We may include affiliate links to third-party services (for example, mortgage rate comparison marketplaces). If you click an affiliate link and complete an action on the third-party site, we may receive a commission. Affiliate links do not change the price you pay or the offer you receive. See our Affiliate Disclosure for details.

6. Information you voluntarily provide

If you contact us by email or through a contact form, the information you send (such as your name, email address, and the contents of your message) will be used solely to respond to you. We do not add contact emails to marketing lists without your explicit opt-in.

7. Children's privacy

The Site is not directed to children under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can remove it.

8. California residents (CCPA / CPRA)

If you are a California resident, you have the right to know what personal information we collect, to request deletion, and to opt out of the “sale” or “sharing” of your personal information. We do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined under the California Consumer Privacy Act.

9. EEA / UK residents (GDPR / UK GDPR)

If you are located in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or Switzerland, you have rights under the General Data Protection Regulation and equivalent laws, including the right to access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to the processing of personal data we hold about you, and the right to data portability. Because we do not collect or store the values you enter into the calculators, these rights are effectively automatic for that data. For any other personal data (such as an email you send to us), please contact us using the address on the Contact page.

10. Data security

We follow reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect any personal data we receive. No transmission over the internet is ever fully secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The updated version will be indicated by a new “Last updated” date at the top of this page. Material changes will be highlighted on the home page or via a notice on the Site.

12. Contact

Questions about this Privacy Policy can be sent to us through the Contact page.
